Prevent Entrapment! Interlock blocking device for doors and light curtains

In order to prevent entrapment in a dangerous area, people often use a Lockout-Tagout safety padlock. However, Lockout-Tagout is not always used correctly and cannot be enforced. Our blocking devices are, unlike Lockout-Tagout, fully mechanical locking systems that enforces operators to carry a safety key with them when entering a safeguarded area, which prevents entrapment in dangerous and hazardous zones.

There are different solutions to protect people from entrapment. You can use 3d radar scanners, safety switches that are equipped with mechanically coded personal safety keys and safety switches with a built-in RFID badge reader. But we now offer fully mechanical entrapment prevention for doors and light curtains.

We offer two different blocking devices, an Interlock Blocking Device (IBL), called the ALPHA. And a Photoelectric Blocking Device (PBL), the BRAVO for Light curtains.

The ALPHA (IBL)
The Alpha, the Interlock blocking device is available for swing and sliding doors, prevents containment and ensures that machines are not unintentionally restarted during operations. In addition, the ALPHA blocking device can be easily retrofitted to any access door that gives access to the protected area. There is a version for revolving doors as well as sliding doors.

Door Closed, the ALPHA interlock blocking device prevents opening an access door until the unique coded key is turned and extracted. The ALPHA then block the door from closing and in doing so switches the safety contact of the door switch until the safety key is returned to the lock.

Door Open, the ALPHA ensures the door can only be opened when the safety key is removed. As long as the operator is present in the safeguarded area (with the safety key), the door cannot close and the machine cannot restart.

The BRAVO (PBL)
The BRAVO has been specially developed for light curtains. The Bravo prevents the resetting of light curtains as long as someone is present in the safeguarded zone.

The Bravo interlock blocking device in operation
The blocking device blocks the light beams of a light curtain by turning the coded safety key. This prevents the safety contacts of the light curtain from being switched. When the light curtains are disrupted, the coded key can be removed.

The coded key can only be removed when the blocking device breaks the light curtain's beams. The operator takes this safety key with him into the protected zone, making unintentional restart or reset of the machine impossible.

The Bravo interlock blocking device can be equipped with 2 padlocks, this prevents the entry of the safety key when several operators enter the area.

Interlock blocking devices can be added retrofit to any entrance door or light curtain of a safeguarded area and requires operators to bring a safety key when entering this area, which prevents reset of the safety switch or light curtain.

The features:
- Compulsive Lockout-Tagout
- Fully mechanical
- Easy to mount on any door
- Mandatory key extraction
- 200,000 unique key codes
- Key registration (end-user)
- Full stainless steel 316
- Very robust design
